have a 90 overall average of all Spanish class semester grades.
have a behavioral record free from suspension, academic dishonesty, and/or a pattern of inappropriate behavior.
be invited to join after all evaluations are finished.
be an active participant in the Induction Ceremony (no exceptions except for UIL activities).
Member Requirements:
Members of SNHS must complete 12 points per semester; the requirements for new inductees and second semester seniors are lower. These points will be broken up into 3 pieces: volunteering, cultural events, and meetings. Members will be required to get 4 volunteer hours through organizations that SNHS decides on (1 hour = 1 point), attend 4 cultural events (SNHS socials or other designated events by SNHS), and attend all 4 meetings (1 meeting = 1 point). If you miss meetings because of other activities or appointments, you will have to make up these points by doing extra volunteer hours or attending extra cultural events. Officers will let you know if there are certain events that will count for both cultural events and volunteer hours. All points must come from opportunities that the Honor Society provides. Points can roll over into next semester.
-Points Sheet: Make sure to get every volunteer/cultural event signed by an officer or designated official on the day of the event. We will not accept logs at the end of the semester that do not have signatures.
-SNHS meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month. Meetings will begin PROMPTLY at 3:00 PM and end at 3:30 PM. Members are only allowed to receive 1 tardy. A second tardy will result in removal from SNHS. For more about hours and service opportunities, or to print out a new hours form, click here.
-Absences: Members can only have one unexcused absence per semester. More than one unexcused absence will result in removal from SNHS. Members must send an email to [email protected] if they are unable to attend a meeting due to another activity.
-Penalties: Failure to attend an event you signed up for without finding a replacement or at least a 24-hour warning will result in a 1-point penalty.
-Insufficient points: If by the end of the semester you do not have the required 12 points for SNHS, you will have to make up that many points the second semester.
-Socials: These may count as cultural events. Make sure you sign up on the sign-up genius when you plan on attending socials this year. We will not give you credit for attendance if you have not signed up on signup genius.
-Fundraisers: There will be no fundraisers this year. -Club Dues: The dues this year will be $35, as usual, to help fund scholarships. purchases like T-shirts and improve the overall quality of the club.
